Cookies!!

We have had a busy week!  Two cookie exchanges in one day was a lot of work!  I spent the entire day Wednesday making cookies.  I started out making these adorable sugar cookies in different shapes... bells, trees, candy canes, and gingerbread men.  For the life of me, I couldn't get the dough to cooperate.  I was so frustrated!  Finally I decided to just make little cookie "mounds".  I looked online to see unique ways to decorate my ugly cookie mounds and found this.  Perfect!!!!!  I got to work... and quickly found it was more tedious than I ever imagined.  It was now 9pm, Brayden was done, he needed to go to bed.. I was beyond exhausted.  I got 36 of the cookies finished, and left the other 36 partially finished to be completed the next morning.  I went to bed.

About an hour after going to bed, Cavan walked into our room and told me I had to come look at something.  I walked into the kitchen with 3 ziplock baggies torn open on the floor, and a couple of marshmallows on the floor.  DELKO!!!  I was in shock.  I started bawling.  Cavan quickly turned off the video camera told me it was a joke (ha, yes, he recorded the entire thing).  I couldn't stop crying.  I worked so hard, and didn't think it was very funny.  Finally he showed me he finished all the cookies.. every last one of them.  Jokingly I told him he was forgiven.  It was funny after, but not during.  We watched the video of me breaking down, and quickly deleted it.  Thank goodness Delko didn't eat the cookies.  I love my husband very much, even if he made me cry.

The cookies were a success, and turned out very cute.  I am so glad I won't be baking anything for a long time!

Leah has been a sweetie lately.  She is always so concerned about other people.  I just love her tender heart. She has been a little emotional lately, but we are working on how intense she shows her feelings.  She is a crazy one sometimes.

Brayden is doing great.  He's doing so well at holding his head up now.  He hates tummy time, and really doesn't like the bumbo either.  He'd rather be nursing... constantly.  He is such a sweet baby though.  I am so thankful for him.

Cavan and I were married 3 years ago on Wednesday.  I cannot believe it has been that long... but it seems like just yesterday all at the same time.  A lot has happened in 3 years, and I wouldn't change a thing.. I love him!!!

  1. Evangeline and Brayden are very alike! She hates tummy time. It takes her about 5 seconds to start crying and struggling. She makes me think if a turtle caught on it's back. She too would prefer to nurse constantly. Merry Christmas and Happy Anniversary!
