Oh the weather outside is frightful...

It is so cold here!  I cannot believe it isn't snowing.  I almost wish it would.  It has been a crazy few days in the Carlson home!  Our hot water heater broke yesterday.  Cavan spent all day trying to fix it, and by the time he replaced 2 parts, he needed one more, but the plumbing store was closed.  We boiled water and mixed it with cold water to give Leah a bath last night.  It was much less water than she is used to, and it wasn't exactly like every other night.  She freaked out, and had a hard time sleeping.  She woke up multiple times crying, "bath, bath, bath!"  Oh Leah!  Daddy got the part early this morning so we were all able to take nice warm baths.

Cavan and I cooked an amazing dinner last night (If I do say so myself!).  We made Mongolian Beef.  It was so yummy.  It was so pretty too.. I had to take a picture.

Brayden is doing great.  He slept for 5 hours last night.  I put him in bed with me as he has been getting too cold in his Kanoe.  I tried to bundle him up as much as I could, but with the air right under him, he was waking up cold.  I am so proud of him going an entire 5 hours though!  He is smiling so much more, and has such a wonderful personality.  On Sunday at our home church, my friend Paula, glanced at him while he was nursing and he gave her the biggest smile.  It was so cute.  He is a huge flirt!  Those baby blues help a little too!

He was playing on his play mat yesterday and I realized he was being awfully quiet.. He fell asleep!  Leah never would do that.  He's such an easy going boy!

Leah is full of energy!  I wish I had 1/4 of the energy she has!  She is so much fun, and says the funniest things lately.  She is really starting to put words together.  This morning she came up to me and said, "Momma, Baby, Baby, Stairs, Night Night, Baby, Please!"  It took me a minute, but realized she wanted her baby doll upstairs that she took to bed last night.  Wow... I can't believe she put all those words together!  She's so smart and so adorable.  There is a free online program to help learn letters and their sounds and Leah and I were playing around with it today, she really enjoyed it as she already knows all her letters.

My great friend, Paula, came over tonight and took some Christmas pictures of the kiddos today.  I cannot wait to see them.  It was so hard getting both kids to cooperate, but Paula is so good she got some amazing shots.  She is such a talented photographer!  I love her!
