Craziness!

I always knew our lives would change once Brayden arrived, but wow, I never expected it to be this crazy around here!  I hardly ever see Cavan and Leah.  I am stuck in bed nursing Brayden what seems like every 20 minutes.  It's a mad house!!  BUT - It's amazing!  Brayden and I are really bonding.  Leah is being taken care of by Daddy, and she is loving it.  Brayden is exactly what we prayed for.  He is so easy going, go with the flow, happy, and content.  He is nothing like Leah was at this age.  She had to be moving constantly!  As long as Brayden has his boob, he's a happy man!

Cavan and I made the decision to get Brayden circumcised.  It was a tough decision as I didn't want to put my baby through pain, but we felt through all our research, it was the best decision for him.  We didn't want it done like most babies have it done.  After researching, we decided we wanted a more holistic circumcision.  We chose a Jewish Mohel (he's also an OB/GYN) to do his surgery.  Well, the closest one to us that was willing to preform this on a non-Jewish baby was in Charleston... 2.5 hours away.  So, Cavan, Brayden, and I drove all the way to Charleston yesterday.  Luckily, my midwife met us there and held my hand through the whole thing.  We were able to stay in the same room with Brayden to comfort him during his procedure (which lasted less than a minute... the longest minute of my life!) and I was able to nurse him right afterward. It was a difficult experience, but Brayden is doing wonderfully.  He has been healing so well, and I am glad we made this decision.  I am also glad we'll never have to do that again!!

Brayden has been doing well at night.  He's doing better than his sister ever did!  He wakes to nurse about every 2 hours, and falls right back to sleep.  It doesn't mean I am not exhausted though!  We are co-sleeping with him, so he's smack in the middle of us.  I just ordered this co-sleeping pillow so I will feel more comfortable with him sleeping near the side of the bed.  

Leah is doing ok... she's slowly adjusting.  She seems to get worse if we have someone stop by, I guess it just throws her off and she becomes very clingy and has lots of meltdowns.  Cavan has been doing an amazing job with her.  She sure enjoys her time with Daddy!

I am soaking up every ounce of Brayden's newborn-ness.  He is so snuggly.  I love his super soft hair.  I love the creaky noises he makes.  I love the goofy faces he makes when he is sleeping.  I can't get over his adorable little face.  I am so in love!!!!

I am not sure if it's just me, but since I am taking care of Brayden most of the time, Leah seems HUGE!  I always thought she was so tiny... but now she looks like a giant!  My baby girl is growing so fast.
