We had such a busy week leading up to the 4th of July. We had everything from our Charleston trip, doctor appointments, maternity photos, and visitors. My friend Ashley and her husband Peter have made a tradition of visiting every 4th of July since Cavan and I have gotten married. This was their 3rd trip to see us and we really had so much fun.
Being 8 months pregnant (next week), I really wanted to stay home and relax. It was so nice to just hang out with Ashley and Peter. Leah had such a ball with them. She was a bit of a show off too and it was adorable!
She has been waking up during the middle of the night the past few days. I don't know if it was all the excitement of having guests staying with us, or if her teeth are bothering her. She has woken up at 2am on the dot the last few nights and I am feeling it! I hate letting her just cry, I have never been the mom who can just listen to that. I always go up and make sure she is ok, make sure she knows I am there, and pray with her before leaving again. She normally calms down quickly after and falls back to sleep. This morning was a little different. I could tell there was no way she was going to fall back to sleep right away so I decided to nurse her to get her really sleepy. It worked and she actually slept in until almost 9am! Anyone who knows Leah knows she wakes up at 5-6am every morning. It was crazy! It is now 11am and she is already taking her first nap. I guess she is really worn out. I am sure she is ready to get back into routine soon. I am too!
All together, we had a great weekend. Thank you Ashley and Peter for a great weekend.
