First Entry

Hello All!

I have always wanted to start a blog, and although Leah is already 4 months old, it's better to start now than never.  I want to keep this as up to date as possible, so if I lag behind, please inform me!  

Leah has had a lot of "firsts" already, but I am sure there are tons more to come.  She has had her first smile, laugh, rolling over, and long conversations with herself.  She is really starting to get a personality.  She is SO Cavan's child.  Very schedule oriented, she likes predictability, and gets crabby when she hasn't eaten recently (haha just joking honey).  We have attempted to take her to Grandma and Grandpa Carlson's house recently, and it really doesn't work.  She is smiling, happy, and just a joy for the first 5-10 minutes... then she realizes she's not at home, and MELTDOWN... She literally will not stop crying no matter what we do.  We tried the first time (on Mother's Day of course) for over an hour and a half (felt like a lifetime!) to comfort her, and we eventually got her to sleep.  The next time we went over was the day Casandra and Bryan got back from their vacation, and she cried for not even 10 minutes, and we left... with empty tummies :(  We did bring some food back home with us though.  It took a total of 1 hour of nursing, and me laying with her in bed for her to finally calm down.  But in all honesty, she is SO happy at home.  If she could stay home and never leave the frame of our front door.. she would be the happiest baby ever.  I hope it will pass soon though, I would like to get out of the house occasionally :)  I took some photos of her this morning, she is just too cute.  Hope you enjoy!
