Urgent Care Center

Being pregnant, there are highs and lows.  Morning sickenss, back aches, and yeast infections are just a couple lows.  I have had them all.  ugh.  I visited my OB last week thinking I had a yeast infection.  He said I did and gave me medication.  I had it filled, but I always look up medications before taking them, especially since I am pregnant.  The reviews I read were mixed.  A lot of people said they had taken that medication without any reactions, but the manufacturer had done a study on pregnant women, and the results varied from nothing wrong to birth defects.  I didn't take it!  I have tried doubling up on my probiotics, adding lots of garlic to my diet, and being even more careful with my sugar intake.  It was helping, but one night I decided to just use a little of the medication the doctor gave me.  BAD idea!  2 days later the roof of my mouth felt like it was severely burned, then my lips got this weeping rash on them... then my eyes started to itch and became swollen.  Then.... ugh.. I woke up at 1am with an awful rash all over my arms.  I tried different natural methods, but really felt like I should do more.  Cavan and I prayed and prayed for guidance.  Cavan's family was amazing and prayed for my body to be healed.

This morning when I woke up, my eyes were so swollen I could see the skin of my lids when I had them open.  I was icing my eyes just to keep from itching.  I needed to know what I was dealing with.  I really felt at peace about going to a med center.  Luckily (not for Bryan), Bryan went to the same office just the other day so we knew which one to go to.  The doctor was so nice, and said I had an allergic reaction from the medication I took.  I got a anti inflammatory shot, some benadryl, and instructed to take hot oatmeal baths, and lots of rest.  I have a sore bum from the shot, but other than that my swelling is down tremendously, and I am feeling very tired from the benadryl.  Praise God for His healing!!!

Leah has been wonderful, as usual.  She is learning more and more.  I have a couple of funny stories to tell from the last few days.

Cavan and I set up the water table and sitting pool outside for her to play in a few days ago.  She was having so much fun.  She was doing her favorite thing.. playing in water naked.  She loves being naked.  She would be naked all day long if we let her.  She was running around, sliding down her slide, and all of a sudden I saw a toad right by her bum.  Then I took a closer look.. this was no toad, it was a turd!!!  HA!  Leah pooped on our patio.  Cavan even had the brilliant idea of disposing it with our dog's pooper scooper!  LOL.. oh Leah!

The last story before this benadryl hits me too hard... I was taking an oatmeal bath today to help with my rash.  Cavan told me not to drain it because the oatmeal would clog the drain.  Leah followed me into the bathroom a few hours later and touched the water.  She was eating crackers at the time.  She proceeded to throw the crackers into the bath tub and sign the word "fish".  She was feeding the "fish" in our tub... I think Grandpa Carlson would have been proud.. she actually fed the fish instead of herself!  It was so cute!

Sorry if I didn't make any sense in the last stories.. this benadryl really makes me feel funny!  The room is spinning a bit... haha.  Have a good night.
