We have had a fun week! I took Delko to his doggie class Wednesday night, Leah and I went to our Christian Mom's meet up group for an Easter egg hunt and book exchange, and we took a ride in the Jeep tonight to get frozen yogurt. I am a bit exhausted to say the least!
Delko went to class on Wednesday in place of Payton. I originally brought Payton to the class thinking she'd love the interaction and it would help her with her nervousness she has been going through. Well, she didn't like it even 1/2 as much as I thought she would. She liked the obedience part, just not the other dog part. She's been getting more grumpy in her old age (she's almost 6). There were some rambunctious puppies in the class, and she wanted nothing to do with them. I thought to bring Delko to the next class because I thought he was a bit more social. HA! He completely embarrassed me. The first 20 minutes he wouldn't stop barking at every moving thing.. people, dogs, and even a toy that fell. After he got more comfortable he did wonderful. I really think he is going to benefit from this class. He did quite well after his initial melt down.
Leah is becoming a pro at Easter egg hunting. Although she does have a habit of only getting 4 eggs! She had more fun playing outside than looking for little eggs filled with things Mommy wont let her eat! She did really well at the play group. I was telling Cavan later that day that he would have been so proud of her. She really is polite when it comes to other kids. She is a little shy at first, but quickly warmed up. She is so good at sharing, and was pretty well contained when someone took a toy from her hands. She let out a little whimper here and there, but sometimes she would even give more of her toys to the other kids. What a good girl! I think she is going to make a wonderful big sister. She has such a wonderful personality, and I for the first time saw my little baby more as a little girl. She's growing up so fast.
It was such a nice day outside today. Leah had a great time playing around the house. We decided after dinner to go for a ride in the Jeep. That quickly built up to a ride to the ice cream store! We really had fun and Leah seemed to enjoy the ride. I think she was a little nervous at first, but she quickly warmed up to the idea. She really enjoyed a couple bites of frozen yogurt. We made it back home shortly after 6, and she went right into the bath tub and to bed. She was exhausted.
I was thinking about finally sleeping all night long, and now we're going to "do the whole newborn thing" again. As hard as it is, I am so excited to do it one last time. I do sometimes get flash backs of how terrible Leah used to be at sleeping and get nervous, but I know I can do it. Breastfeeding is hard work. Leah would never, ever, take a bottle. She got all her feedings straight from me, all night long. I just hope Brayden is a better sleeper than Leah was. She finally started sleeping through the night at 11 months old. She woke up every 2-3 hours until then. How I survived, I really don't know, but I know I can do it all over again just to get that little baby.
My pregnancy is going well. I haven't had any complications other than the morning (all day) sickness that lasted until 15 weeks. I am so thankful for this healthy little boy. Feeling him kick is amazing. I never go more than an hour or so without feeling him move. He is one loved little boy, that is for sure!
My mom is coming into town on Tuesday. It should be a fun filled week of girl time and shopping. Leah is excited too! We hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend and enjoy the pictures.
