What a weekend!

We've had a crazy few days.  If you didn't hear.. we bought a house!!!!!!  We are more than excited and cannot wait to get out of this apartment.  I have never felt so happy about moving in my life.  We bought a 3 bedroom 2.5 bathroom 1600 square foot house.  We even have a 2 car garage :).  Payton isn't going to know what to do.  She has spent most of her life in an apartment - it should be great!  One nice thing: the people who owned it before us had it built 3 years ago and they only used it as a vacation home, so it looks brand new!  Thank you Jesus!!!

We have been running around like crazy people getting things for our new house.  We gave ourselves a very very tight budget.. so most of our things have been found on craigslist or all the garage sales we went to yesterday.  It was a fun and humbling thing for both Cavan and I.  We really felt like God was trying to keep us level by buying thing this way.  We are so thankful for all the good deals we found!!

We are going to start reading some dicipline books.  Leah is a little strong willed, and we have no idea how to handle her when she can't reason back.  She has little tantrums, and I really don't know what to do.. any suggestions on books??  I think we need some assistance.  We have Dare to Dicipline, but nothing else.

Enjoy these pictures of Leah enjoying our morning walk in her new wagon (a very nice craigslist find).

  1. so funny - Luke & I were just talking about that today. We spank Haddon's hand if he is defiant, but he just laughs, soooo apparently it's not making too much of an impact. If you hear of any books on discipline, I'd love to know about them and I'll do the same. It's crazy to see sin, even in innocent little children. Congrats on the house!

  2. Just started following your blog. Your daughter is adorable! I have found that discipline is one of the hardest things in parenting. I have a "spirited" 3 year old.
For us the biggest thing is being consistent. Each child's personality is so different. I found the book "Making your children mind without losing yours" was helpful. "The strong willed child" by Dr. James Dobson is good as well. Hang in there!
