I haven't had the time, or energy, to write the past couple of days. I finally gave in and let Leah sleep in bed with us. It worked out well. I honestly don't know how many times she woke up to eat, and I never had to get up out of bed. I know I might be setting myself up for a hard time, but right now, it is worth it.
We really haven't done anything too exciting outside of grocery shopping and laundry the past couple days. We did go to Grandpa and Grandma Carlson's house last night for a movie. Leah did really well, and she very much enjoys visiting! She tried broccoli and watermelon yesterday. I am slowly letting her try different foods. I am going to start making her own baby food soon as well. My dad and step mom got us this awesome baby food maker from Williams Sonoma. I can't wait to try it out!
We got to talk with Derick last night. He seems to be doing great. He said it actually SNOWED up in the U.P. on Thursday night.. How crazy is that?? I guess Michigan is having the coldest summer on record. I miss Derick so much. I cannot wait to see him in October. I am so blessed to have such a great brother, and am also so happy him and I are so close. I couldn't imagine my life without him. I really hope Leah and our next child are as bonded as Derick and I are. Don't worry, I am not trying to hint at anything!!
Leah and I took a nap this morning around 10:30. I woke up around noon, and Miss Leah woke up around 2! Crazy girl... she knows how to sleep!
I am not feeling so well today. I have a clogged milk duct, and it is really bothering me. I have had moist heat on it all day, and trying to nurse her as much as I can. I am hoping it will ease up soon. It is really painful! Seeing this is my first time having a clogged duct, I don't really know what to expect, but its just another thing to keep my little one healthy - I wouldn't trade breastfeeding for anything. Just one look at Leah tells you how well my milk is doing :).
Leah must of scratched her eye yesterday. On her right eye there is a BB sized red dot. I was really concerned about it yesterday. I did some research online, and believe it or not, I was told to put a drop of breast milk in her eye. So, thinking I have nothing to lose, I tried it. To my amazement her eye looks much better already today! I also read it can help cure diaper rash, ear infections, pink eye, the common cold, and many more things! How amazing is that??
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I know we are just going to try and relax. Enjoy the pictures of Leah I took today, she's getting to be a real character!!
